What’s In My Bag: A Busybody’s Guide To Carrying It All
There is rarely a day that I go home right after work. And if you’re like me, or any other twenty-something trying to juggle multiple activities, you sure as hell better be prepared to face whatever is thrown at you. The only way to do that is with a classy bag to sling over your shoulder when you come out of the gym and head to your office. This world wouldn’t run if you didn’t have a huge bag to stuff all your ideas—and things—into.
Big Bag Rules:
Hold it in your hand on a crowded subway…not on your shoulder/ Organize the bag. Just because it’s large doesn’t mean you should throw your shit into it/ Bring useful items…subtract everything you don’t need at least twice a day/ Utilize extra pockets. This will come in handy when you’re search for your keys/ Don’t carry your bag on your elbow—you look stupid.
In My Bag:
1. Leather Bag.
Get a good one. Save your money, and purchase a nice bag so that it can hold the weight of your life on your shoulder.
2. Notebook and Pen.
Need to remember your brilliant idea for a band name?
Access to my bed, and the gym.
4. Business Cards
Keep these on you at all times. You never know who you’re going to meet.
Because there are annoying people in this world that you have to ignore.
6. Bobby Pins
Weather proof your hair…or pick a lock.
7. Dry Shampoo, Mascara, Perfume
Sometimes you need to perk up your look.
God forbid my phone loses its charge.
9. A Dragon Necklace/Blade
A gift from my GF. Nerd alert!
10. The Latest Issue of Glamour Magazine
This plus sunglasses on the train in the morning means Don’t fuck with me. I’m all about lady business.
11. Costume Jewelry.
The day could from dull to fancy very quickly in NYC.
12. Large Wallet.
The place where I keep my money, tampons, and tons of receipts.
13. Breathe Strips.
Make out contests still happen. Spin the bottle is still a thing. Prepare yourself for this kissy world!
Best mid-day refreshers. Your hair might fall flat. You’re stress level might rise. Both might happen at the same time. And if they do, you’ll have your grooming backups.
15. CoverGirl’s Long Lasting Lip Gloss & Shine Applicators
Because I live in a 24-hour red lips world.
